We probably left it a bit late this winter to cover hot toddies on the podcast! I certainly hope that cold and flu season is well on the out, but for those - like Cass this week - on the rough end of some late-winter sniffles, I cannot endorse the holy hot toddy enough. This stuff is like a cosy hug in a mug, and you know what? I think that’s exactly what we all need at the end of a long, dark winter anyway.
Sure, there are some fancy recipes out there and I’m sure they are all very lovely - but as I mentioned on the pod, I think the most important ingredient of a hot toddy is convenience. When you’re sick, you don’t want to stuff around. You just want some sweet, delicious relief.
Recipe: Hot Toddies
Makes: 1
Ingredients:
30ml whiskey (experiment with what you prefer, or just grab whatever’s easiest! I’m using Wild Turkey Bourbon at the moment)
Honey
Fresh lemon juice (I usually use 1/2 a small lemon)
Hot water
Mix to preferred taste! It’s that easy folks. May your cockles be warmed!
